Biography

Valeria is PhD (University of Pavia), psychologist and psychotherapist.  Presently, she is research fellow at the Department of Human Sciences for Education “R. Massa” (University of Milano-Bicocca) with a research project titled “Assessing socio-emotional learning in primary and secondary school and she is involved in the Erasmus+KA3 project “Learning to Be. Development of practices and methodologies for assessing social, emotional and health skills within education systems“. Her main research interests include the design, implementation and evaluation of school-based programs to support mental health, socio-emotional skills, resilience and school readiness in educational contexts. She has been involved in national at international projects at the University of Pavia, the Centre for Resilience & Socio-Emotional Health (University of Malta,), at INVALSI and INDIRE.

From 2018 Valeria is Chair of the ENSEC (European Network for Social and Emotional Competence). She is a member of the Network of Experts on Social Dimension of Education and Training (Neset II) for the European Commission. She is a member of the Editorial Board of the International Journal of Emotional Education (lJEE) and a member of the scientific committee of the book series “Crescendo – Studi Ricerca e Strumenti in Psicologia dello Sviluppo e dell’Educazione” (Junior Spaggiari Ed.).

She is author of a number of evidence-based intervention programs for mental health promotion at school.
