The University of Milano-Bicocca is pleased to welcome all the incoming students from its Partner Universities all around the world. Thanks to the Erasmus+ programme, you will have the opportunity to be a part of a new community, discovering its services and experiencing what life in a different educational system looks like. You are welcome to share your knowledge and cultural background with all the students you will meet during your stay. Take the most out of this unique experience!

The Bicocca University Angels team will assist you in the whole process: discover who they are!

Please, read the following sections in order to get ready for your Erasmus+ at the University of Milano-Bicocca.

You can find here the Course Catalogue for Incoming students.

You can then find the contents and specifics of the courses in our online learning platform eLearning (you don’t need to login to see the syllabus).

PLEASE NOTE:

E-learning is the online platform used by our University to manage all aspects of the teaching of each course of study within each department.
The platform is a useful communication tool between lecturers and students and provides all the information on the subjects and materials used in the classroom.

How can you find the syllabus?

  1. Select your Faculty
  2. Select the Degree
  3. Courses
  4. Choose the more recent academic year
  5. Choose the year of the course

Once here you will find the courses with their code, the ECTS (1 ECTS corresponds to 1 CFU), and the syllabus on the left.

If you were selected by your Home University for a mobility period the first thing to do is to wait until your Home University nominates you officially to our university. Know that the nomination period’s deadline is May 20th and you will be contacted with application instructions after that. We contact you by mail so make sure to check your email account often.

Application period for the first semester goes from June 1st to June 30th.

You can start preparing your Learning Agreement but keep in mind that you will discover the exact schedules just a few weeks before the beginning of classes so you will probably need to make some changes after your arrival.

If you have any questions the official channel for communications will be [email protected].

You can also get in touch with the Bicocca University-BUA to get more support from students like you who have already had an Erasmus experience.

Semesters

The academic year is structured in two semesters:

Winter Semester

October 1st – February 28th

Spring Semester

March 1st – July 15th

These dates include the exams session which is different for each faculty. The dates do not include the Italian language course which normally takes place one month before the beginning of each semester.

Accommodation

Unimib is renovating its reception facilities, therefore the available accommodation is limited. Please visit the services website to find more information about it. Remember that the University does not cover the cost of accomodation and that you must start looking for a solution as soon as possible.

If you are looking for accommodation you can navigate the Erasmus Student Network (ESN) web page  or contact the ESN volunteers at [email protected].

Language Level

Students who come to study on a mobility basis should either have  a B1 level certificate of Italian language or B2 of English language.

If you do not have this level or you are unable to provide a certificate,  you are required to attend the Italian language course that is held at the beginning of each semester. If not, the application for mobility will be rejected. An entry test will assess the level of Italian and distribute students in the most suitable class. The University offers courses for A1, A2 and B2.

For further information, please contact the Bicocca Language Centre at [email protected] or visit the website.

In order to help you achieve a successful mobility period, the University of Milano-Bicocca has organized different events to welcome you.

Welcome Day

It is one of the most important steps of your mobility. If you don’t attend the Italian language course, it is first day counted for your mobility period. You will meet your Bicocca University Angel and the staff and teachers who will explain to you all the mobility procedures.

How-To Sessions

At the beginning you may find all the university platforms a bit confusing that’s why we created this moment in order to learn together how to take the most of every platform. In this kind of event, our Bicocca University Angels will explain to you how to access to the different platforms, how to use your credentials and when, how to find your subjects and schedules and more!

Certificate of Arrival

If your University required it, we will sign it for you. Not all the Universities ask for it, some will use the dates reported on the transcript of records.

If your university asks for it then, you must bring it with you at the Welcome Day. During the registration at the event we will collect it and we will give it back to you at the end. Remember to fill it with your personal information before we sign it.

Learning Agreement

You must upload your Learning Agreement (LA) on the Erasmus e-learning page, the online platform, of your Department. We will show you how to do it in the “How-to Sessions” at your arrival.

Remember that your LA must indicate:

  • The name and code of the courses
  • The signatures of both coordinators (your university and Bicocca)

You will have one month from the beginning of the lessons to change your Leaning Agreement. Remember, if you change your Learning Agreement, you will have to upload it again on e-Learning with the new signatures of both coordinators (you should upload the Before the mobility and During the mobility sections).

You can find here the Course Catalogue for Incoming students.

The University of Milano-Bicocca, on the attempt of ensuring a simple and complete mobility experience, has decided to pay the campus insurance for all the mobility students. This insurance covers only the accidents within the university facilities.
For further information, please contact [email protected] or visit the insurance website (available only in italian).
