The physiotherapist is the healthcare professional who carries out, either independently or in collaboration with other healthcare figures, interventions of prevention, treatment, and rehabilitation in the areas of motor function, higher cortical functions, and visceral functions resulting from pathological events of varying etiology, whether congenital or acquired.
The degree programme includes biomedical sciences, the acquisition of clinical knowledge and skills, and the use of scientific evidence. This theoretical foundation is put into practical application through professional clinical internships, which are distributed across the three years and take place in a range of clinical settings (musculoskeletal, neurological, cardiorespiratory, geriatric, and paediatric) offering a comprehensive and multidisciplinary learning experience.
The course is designed to develop skills in clinical assessment, clinical reasoning, and the planning of individual rehabilitation programmes, as well as interpersonal skills, therapeutic education, and a person-centred approach to care.
