Presentation of the course

The Bachelor’s Degree Programme in Nursing aims to educate and prepare future nurses for professional practice. As a professionally oriented degree programme, the final examination also constitutes the State Examination required for professional licensure and is an essential prerequisite for registration with the Professional Register of the Order of Nursing Professions (OPI).

The degree programme therefore provides both theoretical and clinical education. The theoretical component includes lectures, practical laboratory sessions and seminars, while clinical education is acquired through supervised clinical placements in a range of healthcare and social care settings, including public and private facilities, hospitals and community-based services.

The nursing graduate practises the profession with professional accountability and autonomy in caring for individuals and communities. Nursing practice encompasses activities aimed at disease prevention, care and treatment, palliative care, rehabilitation, health education, and health promotion.

The official language of the programme is Italian, and the number of available places is determined through national ministerial planning.

The degree also provides opportunities to continue academic studies through first-level University Master’s programmes and Master’s Degree programmes, both at the University of Milano-Bicocca and at other universities across Italy.
