The Master’s Degree Program in Midwifery Sciences (Class LM/SNT-1) is a two-year, 120-ECTS program designed to train professionals capable of assuming high-responsibility and leadership roles. Accessible through a national admission exam, the program aligns with global Advanced Practice Midwifery models, promoting autonomy and the development of advanced skills in obstetric, neonatal, and gynecological care.
The curriculum is built around four core pillars. The first year focuses on managerial methodology and strategic healthcare leadership, including key elements of midwifery epistemology. The second year offers an advanced disciplinary path in management, research, and education, enhanced by the consolidation of advanced clinical practice. A central component of the program is the clinical internship (30 ECTS), carried out in synergy with key hospital and community healthcare services. This hands-on experience allows students to directly engage in managerial roles, university teaching, and research projects.
Employment outcomes confirm the effectiveness of this approach: graduates secure top positions in universities, research centers, and both public and private healthcare facilities. Indeed, AlmaLaurea data for our University show employment rates close to 100% one year after graduation.
Finally, the program actively promotes international mobility through the Erasmus+ program and collaborations with global centers of excellence for internships and research projects. Upon graduation, alumni can further their academic and professional growth by accessing PhD programs, second-level Master’s degrees, and advanced healthcare management courses.
