The University Corridors for Refugees - UNICORE program is coordinated by UNHCR, the UN Refugee Agency, and made possible through collaboration with partners such as the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Caritas Italiana, Diaconia Valdese, Centro Astalli, Fondazione Finanza Etica, and Gandhi Charity.
The University of Milano-Bicocca has been participating in the project since its beginning in 2021; for the academic year 2025/26, it offers 2 scholarships worth € 5.332,00 each, including accommodation and meals , to refugee candidates admitted to an English-taught master's degree program.
The overall objective of the University Corridors for Refugees - UNICORE 7.0 project is to promote refugees’ right to higher education through the creation of educational corridors Ethiopia, Malawi, Kenya, Mozambique, Niger, Nigeria, South Africa, Tanzania, Uganda, Zambia, Zimbabwe, Namibia and India
Applications can be sent from 3rd March 2025 to 18th April 2025. Students are due to send applications, including all the documents required by the application form, through the UNICORE website.

To verify if you are eligible, please read carefully the admission criteria.
The selection process is divided into two stages:
- Stage 1: Assessment of documentation
- Stage 2: online interview
At the end of the first assessment session, a merit list will be drawn up, and only the first 7 candidates will be eligible for the interview stage. In the event of a tie, the youngest candidate takes precedence.
Candidates admitted to the second stage will be notified by e-mail. The final ranking list will be published on this page.
All candidates admitted to stage two will have to attend an interview with the selection board. Technical and educational skills and English language proficiency will be assessed during the interview.
Interviews will be scheduled from 12 May 2025 and will take place online. The day and time of the interview will be communicated directly to candidates by email and published on this page.
- 3rd March 2025 to 18th April 2025 – Application phase;
- 12thMay 2025 – Pubblication ranking list students admitted to the second stage.
- By 30th June 2025, notification of scholarship.
- Within seven days from the publication of the list – Selected candidates have to accept their scholarship (failure to reply will constitute automatic forfeiture of the grant; in the event that one or both of the winners decline the benefit, the University will proceed to move down the list and award the scholarship to the next eligible candidate).
