Regulation (EU) 2021/817 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 20 May 2021 established Erasmus+ 2021-2027: the European Union programme for education, training, youth and sport, with a budget of €26.2 billion.
Mariya Gabriel, Commissioner for Innovation, Research, Culture, Education and Youth, stated:
"The fact that the Erasmus+ budget for the next seven years has almost doubled demonstrates the importance attached to education, lifelong learning and youth in Europe. Erasmus+ remains a unique programme in terms of its size, scope and global recognition, covering 33 countries, and accessible to the rest of the world through its international activities. Thanks to Erasmus+, we will make the European Education Area a reality."
To achieve the European Education Area, the Erasmus+ 2021-2027 Programme aims to:
-
Increase the number of beneficiaries;

Reach people from all social backgrounds;
