Biography
Medical Doctor, Board in Neurology.
Associated Professor in Human Anatomy.
Clinical neurologist at Vimercate Hospital from 1989 to 2001.
Since 2001 researcher in the field of BIO/16 (Human Anatomy) at the University of Milano-Bicocca, Department of Medicine and Surgery, and since 2019, Associate Professor of Human Anatomy at the same university.
Teaching: Human Anatomy for Medical and Dental Surgery students (MD Program and DDS Program) at the School of Medicine and Surgery – University of Milano-Bicocca (formerly also for Bachelor’s degree in Nursing and Midwifery). Neuroanatomy for Neurology, Psychiatry and Neurosurgery Residency Program – University of Milano-Bicocca.
Research activity is mainly focused on preclinical studies on the peripheral and central neurotoxicity of anticancer drugs (pathogenetic mechanisms and neuroprotection). Moreover, studies on neuropathological changes in animal models of metabolic and immunological diseases involving the central and peripheral nervous system, and on the role of neuroinflammation in aging.
Since 2020, Deputy Coordinator of the PhD Program in Neuroscience.
Member of the Quality Assurance Group for Teaching in the Department of Medicine and Surgery.
Author of 92 papers on international peer-reviewed journals.
