OBJECTIVES
Rare diseases today represent one of the fastest growing sectors of the National Health System. In Italy, in fact, it is estimated that the rare patients are from 300,000 to 500,000. The peculiarities linked to chronicity, diagnostic difficulties and therapy management, represent an important challenge for health professionals. The epidemiological relevance of these diseases clashes with the scarce theoretical knowledge even of the less rare among these diseases, but above all with the not yet widespread knowledge of diagnostic pathways.
The aim of the Master is to provide students with theoretical skills useful for suspecting a rare disease, to guide the patient to access the resources available within the health system and the social assistance system, through a diagnostic path of recognition of characteristic signs and symptoms.
