What is about?
In 2020, Tutor Plus was established as a peer-to-peer tutoring service designed to promote inclusion, guidance, and integration for refugee students and those with a migratory background (degree seekers).
The project originated from a previous collaboration with the International Organization for Migration (IOM) in 2019, under the name "Mentorship Project."
Each year, students can apply to become Tutor Plus through the 150-hour call for applications.
Among the key objectives of Tutor Plus is a strong commitment to facilitating refugee students' access to higher education and fostering their integration into the academic community. This initiative aligns with the Inclusive University Manifesto, promoted by UNHCR, which Bicocca University joined in 2022.
The role of a Tutor +
Tutor Plus serves as a reference point for students, organizing and coordinating activities aimed at providing multidimensional support.
The primary goal is to foster inclusion, hospitality, and intercultural awareness, both within the university and in the broader Milanese community, ensuring the right to education and full participation in academic life. The service acts as a bridge, connecting students with other university resources and providing personalized guidance.
