Biography
Tomaso Pompili is full professor of applied economics in the department of sociology and social research.
He researches issues of industrial, spatial, urban and regional economics and policy:
- urban economic systems (structural differentiation and relative performance, human capital and other localised resources, resource control and economic power, land and real estate rent);
- competitiveness of firms and of cities (entrepreneurship, creativity, innovation, corporate networks);
- collective urban issues (especially congestion and rent);
- local strategic planning (strategic policies, industrial policies, policy and project evaluation).
In analysing these issues he employes both qualitative (induction and falsification) and quantitative methods (regressiona and multivariate analyses). He published several dozens of papers on italian and international journals and volumes.
