Tomaso Pompili is full professor of applied economics in the department of sociology and social research.

He researches issues of industrial, spatial, urban and regional economics and policy:

  • urban economic systems (structural differentiation and relative performance, human capital and other localised resources, resource control and economic power, land and real estate rent);
  • competitiveness of firms and of cities (entrepreneurship, creativity, innovation, corporate networks);
  • collective urban issues (especially congestion and rent);
