Biography
Salvatore Torrisi is Professor of Strategic Management at the Department of Economics, Management and Statistics (DEMS) of the University of Milano-Bicocca (Italy) where he coordinates the Management Division. He has directed the Ph.D. Program in General Management at the University of Bologna and coordinates a course in Technology and Innovation Management for the Ph.D. Program in Business for Society and the Ph.D. Program in Economics, Statistics, and Data Science at the University of Milano-Bicocca.
He graduated from Bocconi University in Italy (Major: Economics) and obtained a PhD from the Science Policy Research Unit (SPRU), University of Sussex in the UK. He is Associate editor of the Journal of Industrial and Business Economics and has served as a member of the Editorial Board of the European Management Review.
He is Affiliate to ICRIOS-Bocconi University of Milan, CefES-DEMS, Academy of Management and the European Policy for Intellectual Property Association (EPIP).
He has been Visiting professor at the Department of Innovation and Organizational Economics, Copenhagen Business School in Denmark, the School of Economics, Wuhan University of Technology in China, and the Faculty of Applied Economics, University of Antwerp in Belgium.
He has participated in various national and international research projects sponsored by the European Commission, the Alfred Sloan Foundation, UNDP, the European Investment Bank and the Italian Ministry of Education, University and Research (MIUR).
His research focuses on the economics and management of innovation, competitive strategy, technology transfer and entrepreneurship, strategic management of IP, digital technology and corporate change.
