A three-year course in Business Economics and Management, also for working students. The first Master's degree in Optometry and Vision Science offered by an Italian university, to complete in English a course that until now only guaranteed access to a first degree. Another Master's degree that combines didactic projects, educational experiences and the languages of art, through the valorisation of the artistic and cultural resources of the territory, also in collaboration with museums and theatres. These are the three new courses that will enrich the educational offer of the University of Milan-Bicocca for the coming academic year.

The number of three-year degree courses, Master's degree courses and Single Cycle Master's degree courses offered by the University has risen to 80, for a multidisciplinary offer that trains professionals in various fields: economics and statistics, law, natural sciences, medicine, sociology, psychology and education. The University's next Open Days, from 4 to 9 March, will focus on the Master's courses.

"Business Economics and Management (EMA) is a three-year course aimed primarily at working students. The course combines distance learning with face-to-face teaching in late afternoons and evenings and on Saturday mornings, in order to reconcile study and work. In the same vein, there is also the possibility for students to opt for a part-time course (6 years) as an alternative to the traditional three-year course. The ultimate goal is to train business dynamics analysts with a focus on sustainability issues, capable of assisting business managers in identifying innovative strategies. The EMA will be presented during the open day of the three-year courses in Economics and Statistics on Saturday 9 March.

The Master's degree in 'Optometry and Vision Science' will be taught in English and in mixed mode, and is also designed for three-year graduates who are already working (with the option of a four-year part-time course). It is the first Master's degree in this field in Italy and is the result of the need to complete the Italian university curriculum, which already includes nine three-year courses in optics and optometry (Milano-Bicocca is also a pioneer in this field), in order to make it more competitive at international level. The "Optometry and Vision Science" degree offers advanced training both in the rapidly evolving field of the use and development of instruments, devices, technologies and aids used in optometry, and in the field of optical measurement and compensation of visual function.

The Master's Degree in "Artistic Languages for Education" is aimed at teachers and trainers who wish to acquire the ability to use expressive and performative artistic languages in educational contexts, to design services and educational paths that enhance the artistic resources of the territory and the environmental and cultural heritage, and to promote and manage initiatives in collaboration with museums, theatres, schools, hospitals and prisons.

The "Artistic Languages for Education" course will be presented next week during one of the "Lauree Magistrali" open days, which will be held at various university locations between Monday 4 and Saturday 9 March. This is a unique opportunity for those who have not yet decided how to continue their studies after their undergraduate degree to find out more about the different second-level courses, enrolment and admission procedures and professional opportunities. Workshops and orientation sessions are also planned.

In total, there will be 36 Master's degree courses in 2024-2025, which, as every year, stand out nationally for their placement results, training professionals and experts in line with the skills required by an ever-changing world of work. In fact, one year after graduating, 84.4% of graduates from the University of Milano-Bicocca have already found a job, almost 6 percentage points higher than the national average (78.5%), according to data from the Almalaurea consortium.

Again referring to the Almalaurea data, among the Master's degree courses, excellent placement performances can be found in Computer Science (96.8% of graduates employed one year after graduation), Data Science (92.3), Human Resources Training and Development (92. 3), Industrial Biotechnology (93.6), Medical Biotechnology (90.5), Chemical Sciences and Technologies (92.7), Geological Sciences and Technologies (93.5), Statistical and Economic Sciences (93.6), Nursing and Midwifery (94.7), Planning and Management of Social Policies and Services (90.6), Economics and Finance (91.8).

"We have decided to dedicate a whole week to the open days of the Master's courses," says Rector Giovanna Iannantuoni, "so that students can get the most complete picture possible of the opportunities that await them after three years of study. For them, our courses are an opportunity to open their minds to new ideas, enrich their knowledge and skills to prepare them for the professional challenges that await them, and broaden their horizons to deal with the complexity of a rapidly changing reality. An education of excellence, an increasingly inclusive, multidisciplinary and international university that also provides pathways for those already in the workforce".
