Biography

Prof Paola Rebora PhD Associate Professor of Medical Statistics at the Department of Medicine and Surgery at the University of Milano-Bicocca. She has experience in the design, conduction and analysis of observational studies, clinical trials and population-based studies. Her main fields of interest in biostatistics are innovative two-phase designs nested in large clinical/epidemiological cohorts, analysis of time-to-event and longitudinal data, joint models, recurrent event analysis, ordinal outcomes and methods for studying familial cancer using population-based registers. Her effort is also directed to the implementation of software (as bshazard package http://cran.r-project.org/ and http://dx.doi.org/10.6070/H4F18WRG). Her main collaborations have been in the field of: oncohaematology, pneumology, cardiology, nursing, nephrology, geriatrics, genetic diseases, surgery and neurosurgery, metabolic syndrome in childhood, anestesiology and emergency medicine. She was involved in several peer-reviewed international grants and was principal investigator of a project to investigate the role of biomarkers on survival outcomes in oncology (MIUR-SIR). She has  more than 150 full publications in peer-reviewed journals (total number of citations: 3930, H-index: 33 -  Scopus ). She also wrote an article on the survival function on the “Wiley StatsRef: Statistics Reference Online”.
