Extracurricular Internship in Italy for Graduates

All you need to know about Extracurricular Internship in Italy:
The University of Milano-Bicocca handles all the procedures relating to the activation of internships in public and private organizations and companies, for graduates and postgraduate students who have completed their studies within the preceding 12 months (Bachelor's Degree, Master's Degree, Single-Cycle Master's Degree, Masters, PhD).
You can find extracurricular internship opportunities through:
• the Job Placement – AlmaLaurea portal
• external channels (eg. LinkedIn) or personal contacts
The extracurricular internship in Italy:
• cannot be shorter than 2 months;
• cannot be longer than 12 months;
• for extracurricular internships carried out in Lombardy, the allowance / reimbursement of expenses is as follows:
- € 500 per month, gross of any withholding taxes; this amount can be reduced to € 400 per month if meal vouchers or canteen services are provided;
- € 350 per month if the daily activity does not exceed 4 hours;
- € 300 per month for the Public Administration.
The internship allowance is paid in full if the trainee attends at least 80% of activities on a monthly basis.

In order for internships to be correctly activated, all host companies and organizations must provide:
- an Extracurricular Internship Agreement defining the nature of the Host institution’s relationship with the University;
- an Individual Training Program for each intern, setting out the objectives of the internship and the procedures for carrying it out.
Once the Host institution has compiled the project on the portal, the trainee will receive an email of approval and in order to proceed with the activation of the extracurricular internship, the trainee has to:
1. Issue the Declaration of Immediate Availability (DID- Dichiarazione di Immediata Disponibilità) if unemployed or with no occupation through Centro per l’impiego;
2. Pay the graduates insurance fee of € 5.72 (payment instructions);
3. Login to Job Placement-Almalaurea portal;
5. Select Gestisci i tuoi tirocini - Dettaglio Tirocinio and
click on Aggiungi Allegato, upload in separate PDF
files:
-
- the Declaration of Immediate Availability;
- the payment receipt for the insurance fee;
- the copy of a valid identity document;
- the residence permit (for any non-EU citizen)
After uploading the required documents, the Host Institution and the Trainee will receive an email confirmation from the Staff.

he University of Milano-Bicocca, in partnership with AlmaLaurea, offers to its graduates and undergraduates the Job Placement-AlmaLaurea portal to apply to job and extracurricular internship opportunities posted by the companies and institutions.


Useful information for undergraduates:
1. Fill in the undergraduate questionnaire required during the degree application process via "Segreterie online";
2. Create your own account to login and manage your profile on the Job Placement-AlmaLaurea portal;
3. Manage your account: select the information you want to make visible and available for companies, select your preference about the kind of notice you want to receive;
4. Apply for job positions and extracurricular internships published on the portal.

Job Placement - AlmaLaurea Portal
The University of Milano-Bicocca has 14 Departments, 7 Disciplinary areas and more than 72 Bachelor’s and Master’s Degree programmes and represents an efficient provider of high-qualified candidates for companies and institutions.
In particular, depending on the candidates target, there are two different portals for companies and organizations:
• the Job Placement-AlmaLaurea portal is useful for searching undergraduates/graduates and for the activation of extracurricular internships;
• the Segreterie Online portal is useful for searching students and for the activation of curricular internships
Job Placement-AlmaLaurea Portal: first registration
Registration is required to benefit the services provided by the Job Placement-AlmaLaurea portal.
The registration to the portal is totally free. It lasts for 1 year and it is possible to renew it without limits.
The Job Placement office is in charge to supervise the correct registration procedure and confirm by e-mail the activation of the company account.

Tools of Job Placement-AlmaLaurea Portal
After the Login, you will be able to:
• Publish internships and job opportunities for undergraduates and graduates.
• Search for undergraduates and graduates through the CV database with the possibility to profile candidates selecting among 100 filters
• Download up to 300 curricula of undergraduates and graduates. Once the assigned limit of downloads is exhausted, it can be renewed by sending an email
• Contact undergraduates and graduates for job interviews
• Consult the database of CVs anonymously according to privacy policies (i.e. the so called: "Collegato Lavoro" law 183/2010)
Please note that the services provided by the portal must be used only for the following purposes: select personnel, start employment and activate extracurricular internships.
