Milano-Bicocca: Rector Orlandi presents his team: ten Vice Rectors and thirteen Delegates

Wednesday, 1 October 2025

Ten Vice Rectors and thirteen Delegates for fourteen key areas: Marco Emilio Orlandi, the new Rector of University of Milano-Bicocca, officially in office from 1 October, presented his team this morning.

“Our commitment will be to consolidate Milano-Bicocca as a public university that is increasingly inclusive, international and deeply rooted in the city,” the new Rector stated. “An institution capable of offering young people high-quality education and a place to live and grow — a true social elevator that gives everyone the chance to build their own future.”

A Professor of Analytical Chemistry and former Deputy Rector and Vice Rector for Research during the previous six-year term, Marco Emilio Orlandi is the fourth Rector of Milano-Bicocca. He succeeds Giovanna Iannantuoni (2019–2025), following Cristina Messa (2013–2019) and founding Rector Marcello Fontanesi (1998–2013).

“We have a duty to transform today’s challenges — from the need for affordable student housing to the value of research beyond the PNRR — into opportunities to strengthen Bicocca’s identity as an open, inclusive university ready to look to the future,” added Orlandi.
