Digital management of diagnostic imaging, media and languages of communication in the Eastern cultural context, but also the environment, food: these and other topics are at the centre of the new courses that are about to start at the Bicocca Academy, the Bicocca University's school of higher education. All the courses are characterised by a highly professional approach, with the aim of training professionals in their respective fields who will be able to position themselves at the frontier of change in the world of work. In this sense, not only the content but also the teaching methods will be fundamental, with the offer of blended mode courses for those already working and the space reserved for practical experience thanks to workshops, work projects and networking with companies. All this is presented in detail on the new Bicocca Academy portal.
"The changes taking place in society and in the world of work are increasingly rapid and have a strong impact on people's lives and on our territories," explains Professor Mario Mezzanzanica, Pro-Rector for higher education and job placement. "New needs and demands for new knowledge and skills are emerging in many areas of knowledge, to which the Bicocca Academy's training offer provides a significant and timely response. An offer that proposes the acquisition of specialised skills alongside a multidisciplinary vision; elements that are indispensable to face current and future cultural challenges".
Professional Masters
In the medical and health sector, we would like to highlight the 1st level professional Master in "Administrator of IT systems in diagnostic imaging and radiotherapy". This course provides the skills needed to manage complex computer systems used to store, process and share digital diagnostic images. Students will benefit from improved job prospects or career progression in the healthcare sector.
The 2nd level professional Master in "Production and Certification of In Vitro Diagnostic and Medical Devices in Europe (MedTech ProCert)" is a response to the strong push of technological and regulatory evolution in the sector. The Masters will train specialised professionals with an innovative mix of scientific, technical and regulatory skills who will be able to find employment in device manufacturing companies, regulatory authorities and certification bodies. The Master provides the lead certification required to conduct audits and assess organisations' compliance with the ISO 9001 quality management standard.
In the field of Humanities, the 1st level professional Master in 'Media, Languages and Communication in a Global Scenario' is being launched. This course responds to the needs of an ever-changing world and fills a training gap often reported by teachers and communication professionals. The aim is to train professionals in communication and multimedia publishing, with specific knowledge of oriental languages and cultures, able to use the languages of marketing and the metaverse in an international context.
The first university master's professional course in "Real Estate (MiRE)" is also about to start. It is aimed at both graduates and professionals who wish to further their education in the real estate sector, reconciling work and professional development thanks to a special teaching methodology that combines part-time, blended (online and face-to-face) and networking with companies in the sector.
Advanced training courses
The postgraduate Nutrition in Sport course provides the theoretical and practical skills required by professionals involved in the nutrition of athletes. The best strategies for managing the nutritional needs of athletes involved in power, team, endurance and mixed sports will be considered. The highly practical nature of the course makes it ideal for professionals such as doctors, biologists, nutritionists and exercise scientists.
Then there is the advanced course in 'advanced surgical technologies and techniques in abdominal organ transplantation'. This focuses on the skills and awareness required to use complex techniques in transplant surgery. Robotic surgery and dynamic organ preservation will be emphasised as they are now fundamental tools in clinical practice.
The humanities will be represented by two advanced courses: the first, 'Eco-socialism', will examine leading scholars on issues of environmentalism and political ecology, with the aim of reflecting on the relationship between ecology, economics, feminism, law and health. An attempt will be made to 'dissect' the concept of nature, questioning the very possibility of a neutral and technical environmentalism, in order to read the central issue of our time through the key of climate justice.
To complete the panorama of this year's novelties, the advanced course "The small community and its landscapes: a COEDU systemic educational model" will focus on working with children, adolescents and families as educators, an exciting and at the same time difficult task. The course is highly experiential: there will be many hours of workshops, visits to services scattered throughout the Lombardy region, 200 hours of internship and a personalised project for each student, supervised by a tutor.
