This week, running until July 17, 2026, our university is hosting the School of Policy on Sustainable Energy Transition, an intensive international training program which is part of the BRIDGE Project -Building Resilient Institutional Dialogue for Governance and Education, aimed to strengthen knowledge networks and cooperation between Italy and Central Asia.
Organized in collaboration with Ca' Foscari University of Venice by Maurizio Acciarri (Department of Materials Science) and Massimo Beccarello (Department of Economics, Management and Statistics) from Milano-Bicocca and by Silvio Bosetti and Silvana Stefani from the Silkway network, the course brings together around twenty officials, experts, and professionals from Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, and Kyrgyzstan.
The program features offer an intensive training and policy dialogue pathway on sustainable energy transition, focusing on decarbonization policies, renewable energy technologies, electricity grids, energy regulation, infrastructure planning, incentives, green finance, and decision-support tools. A distinctive feature is the involvement of key players in the Italian energy sector—including Terna, GSE, A2A, RSE, Sogesid, and WeBuild—as well as the participation of Stefano Besseghini, former President of ARERA. The school will also include an applied project component led by Sogesid, focusing on the introduction of decentralized renewable energy solutions in remote areas that are difficult or costly to connect to conventional power grids.
The BRIDGE project, of which Milano-Bicocca is a partner, is managed by the Department of Asian and North African Studies at Ca' Foscari University of Venice, with the support of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation.
