INVEST Joint Staff Training Initiative: Strengthening International Collaboration at Bicocca

From June 3–6, 2025, the University of Milano-Bicocca hosted the INVEST Joint Staff Training Initiative INVESTed in Joint Programmes: Opportunities and Challenges in Milan, co-organized with partners from the INVEST European University Alliance: Université de Reims Champagne-Ardenne (France) and Karelia University of Applied Sciences (Finland).

Bringing together higher education professionals from over eight countries, the event focused on the opportunities and challenges of developing joint programmes. Topics ranged from credit recognition and legal frameworks to marketing strategies, student engagement, and staff and student wellbeing.

Participants explored how to design more flexible, inclusive, and forward-looking programmes, and discussed practical tools for supporting student mobility, inclusion, and collaboration. Sessions also emphasized the importance of holistic wellbeing for both staff and students, and the role of dissemination in raising the visibility of joint initiatives.

The training week offered rich discussions, hands-on workshops, and opportunities for team building, all contributing to the growth of the INVEST community and the advancement of international higher education.
