Nurmes and Joensuu, Finland – Six students from the University of Milano-Bicocca, active members of Bicocca University Angels, ESN - European Student Network and the INVEST Student Board, took part in the 2025 INVEST Winter School on AI-Enabled Early Innovation at Karelia University of Applied Sciences, an INVEST Alliance partner.
The Winter School provided a dynamic platform for students from various INVEST universities to collaborate, exchange ideas, and explore the potential of AI in driving innovation. Throughout the week, participants engaged in workshops, hands-on activities, and insightful discussions while also experiencing the stunning Finnish winter landscape.
One of the key highlights of the program was the pitching event at Karelia UAS. Here, student teams had the opportunity to present their innovative ideas to local case companies, showcasing their creativity, teamwork, and entrepreneurial mindset. The event underscored the power of AI in shaping early-stage innovations and problem-solving within various industries.
The success of the Winter School would not have been possible without the contributions of the INVEST Alliance’s mentors, organizers, and, of course, the students whose enthusiasm and dedication made the event memorable. Looking ahead, the INVEST Summer School is set to continue this journey of innovation, offering another exciting opportunity for students to deepen their knowledge and collaborate on new challenges. INVEST will host both a Winter and Summer School annually, ensuring a year-round platform for learning, networking, and creative problem-solving.
