LABRA MASSIMO
- U03, Floor: 4, Room: 4013
Biography
Massimo Labra has a strong background in the botanical sciences and in plant molecular biology.
The research programmes, in which he is involved, concern
- BIODIVERSITY: the study of genetic diversity in cultivated and spontaneous plants to estimate biodiversity and to define suitable conservation strategies. Evaluation of agri-food systems to define suitable strategies for developing sustainability practices.
- SUSTAINABILITY: The evaluation of food quality and traceability by using DNA molecular markers. Study food products and their microbiome to improve food quality and to study food origin.
- BIOECONOMY: The valorisation of waste agriculture by-products by using phytoextraction approaches and biotechnological processes to obtain bioactive compounds and to enhance the economy of farmers.
