CAMPONE LUCA
Biography
Luca Capone was born in Milan, Italy. He graduated in pharmacy at the Faculty of Pharmacy of the University of Salerno, in 2009 he received his Ph.D. degree in Pharmaceutical Science. Since, 2020, he held positions of Assistant Professor of Food Chemistry at University of Milano-Bicocca. He has collaborations with several international research groups in different country (Sweden, Madrid, Costa Rica, Brazil, Colombia). His research activity has been focused on food analysis, with particular attention to food safety. In particular at the beginning of her research career, has developed studies on characterization of bioactive compounds in plant and foods using several techniques such as liquid chromatography-high resolution mass spectrometry (LC-HRMS) gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC-MS) have been performed. Later he focuses his research interest in the development, optimization and validation of analytical methods for determination of food contaminants (mycotoxins and environmental pollutants) in complex food matrices using several analytical techniques.
Research
The main research lines can be summarized in three themes:
I. Chemical study of food and vegetable of nutraceutical interest aimed at the development of standardized protocols for the preparation and quality control of derived products.
II. Development and validation of innovative, rapid and sensitive analytical methodologies for the determination of xenobiotics in food matrices.
III. Optimization of green extraction techniques for the recovery of bioacitve componds from byproducts food industry.
