Biography

Gianluigi Ciocca obtained his Msc degree in Computer Science at the University of Milano in 1998. He has been  a  fellow  at  the  Institute  of  Multimedia  Information  Technologies  of  the  Italian  National  Research Council, where his research has focused on the development of systems for the management of image and video databases and the development of new methodologies and algorithms for automatic indexing. Since 2003  he  is  at  DISCo  (Department  of  Informatics,  Systems  and  Communication)  of  the  University  of Milano-Bicocca  where  he  obtained  his  PhD  in  Computer  Science  in  2006.  He  is  currently  associate professor  in  Computer Science  at  DISCo  and  his  current  research  fields  are  image  and  video  analysis, pattern recognition, and machine learning. He is also a member of NeuroMi: Milan Center for Neuroscience.  He has published more than 100 papers in international journals and conferences. He is Associate Editor for IET Electronic Letters and is member of several program commitees in international conferences.
