The event is part of the 2020 Sustainable Development Festival, and is organized by the Network of Universities for Sustainable Development (RUS) and the Italian Alliance for Sustainable Development (ASviS), in collaboration with the General Section Commissioner for the Italian participation in Expo 2020 Dubai.
It is a competition between universities from all over the world that aims to encourage the contribution of universities to achieve the 2030 Agenda. The hackathon, in particular, aims to bring students to reflect and develop solutions for sustainability and resilience, promoting the creation of accessible, replicable and usable projects regardless of age, gender, social status, religion and nationality, integrating the themes of sustainable development according to a complex, inter and transdisciplinary perspective.
The hackathon takes place entirely online on the Teams platform from 3 to 5 October as part of the Sustainable Development Festival.
The teams will compete on 4 thematic areas:
#Awareness - Stimulating awareness on the themes of the 2030 Agenda
#Spaces - Spaces in the universities of the future
#Community - The dialogue between university and territory
#Inclusion - University welfare between old and new social needs
