The Council of Europe Convention on preventing and combating violence against women and domestic violence, better known as the 'Istanbul Convention', was signed on 10 May 2011.
The conference aims to highlight the crucial role that education and academia can play in the implementation of the Istanbul Convention through the creation of transnational networks of researchers. By bringing together experts who look at the issue from different perspectives, these networks can help identify the most effective and urgent actions in each context.
