Biography
Graduated in Geology with 100/110 cum Laude at the University of Milan in 2000, I achieved my PhD at the University of Milano-Bicocca in 2003, with the study of biogeochemical fluxes and in particular of coccolithophores in the easter Mediterranean. I worked as research assistent for one year at the University of Athens and worked as a Post-Doc for almost 2 years at the University of Milano-Bicocca. I participated in several National and International research projects and I coordinated the Loral Research Unit in the National project, funded by MIUR in 2003, on the study of the Pisco Formation as Fossil Lagerstatte. I have worked as Researcher from 2008 to 2017 and since 2017 I am Associate Professor. My main research interests are related to the ecology and biogeography of plankton with mineralised skeleton in different oceanographic settings, paleoceological and biostratigraphic analyses through the study of calcareous nannofossils, silicoflagellates and diatoms.
