Fund a scholarship

All types of Companies/Bodies, including non-profit organisations, can fund grants. It is not necessary for the Company to have a project as this can be prepared by the University or co-designed with the Company. Recipients of grants do not have a contract with the Company but are full-time students who will carry out the research project at the University and at the Company's premises.

How

  • the Company must contact the Doctoral School office and/or the Coordinator of the Doctoral Course of interest
  • must send a letter of intent by December
  • the agreement must be signed by April
The Sponsor may participate as an external member of the admission exam committee.

How much does it cost?

Companies/private organisations are required to sign a bank or insurance guarantee to secure the funding. The guarantee must be filed when the agreement is signed. Alternatively, the full amount must be paid in advance. Public entities are not required to provide guarantees. The grant may be paid in annual instalments or as a lump sum.
At the end of the doctoral cycle, the company/organisation will be asked to increase the grant for periods spent abroad (max 18 months) by 50% of the monthly grant amount (+ INPS fee). This period will in any case be agreed with the Company in order to define a maximum number of months, not exceeding a year and-a-half, to be spent abroad.
