Biography

Bogdan Novakovic is a PhD student in Education in Contemporary Society (40th cycle).

His research focuses on how emerging technologies—primarily Artificial Intelligence (AI), as well as Augmented Reality (AR), Mixed Reality (MR), and Virtual Reality (VR)—can transform educational practices in contemporary society. He is particularly interested in humanity-centered AI, researching and designing solutions that address accessibility and inclusivity challenges. Currently, his work centers on empowering educators in Early Childhood Education (ECE) and exploring the potential of innovative tools to enhance learning experiences for young children.

  • Organized several STEAM education workshops in Italy and Serbia, including LEGO STEAM workshops and innovative STEAM AI Creativity Workshops that explored the integration of AI into education, which he is now developing further internationally.
  • Teaching experience in the Multimedia Design Department at a university in Serbia, guiding students in design principles and multimedia projects.
  • Member of the Laboratorio Informatico di Sperimentazione Pedagogico (LISP).

In addition to his academic pursuits, he is a Local Leader at IxDF Milan (Interaction Design Foundation), where he organizes design-related events to foster professional growth and collaboration within the design community. Professionally, he has worked with prominent marketing agencies, such as McCann Erickson, and with various SaaS companies in roles encompassing digital product design, UX (User Experience) research, and UI (User Interface) design.

Research

His research, titled Empowering Educators, has two main goals: 1) to analyze and investigate how Generative Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Augmented Reality (AR) can enhance teaching methods for educators in Early Childhood Education (ECE); 2) to design a practical tool so these technologies can be easily integrated and used. It focuses on inclusivity, accessibility, and personalized learning in creative ways while critically addressing ethical issues and aligning with the DigCompEdu and DigComp 2.2.
