Biography

Graduated in Chemistry in 2001 at University La Sapienza of Rome. In the early years of her training, BDC has acquired specific experience in the field of organic and organo-metallic chemistry. She had the opportunity to work in the group of M. Figueredo Galimany at Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona as post-graduate student, as winner of a scholarship of the University La Sapienza of Rome (2002). In 2005, she got a master degree in Synthetic Methodologies in Chemistry at the University of Florence during which she attended a stage in Medicinal Chemistry Department of IRBM, part of Merck Basic Research Global Sites in Roma.
In 2005/2006, she got a grant sponsored by Glaxo-SmithKline-Verona. In 2009, she obtained the PhD in Inorganic Chemistry at University of Florence, working on synthesis of Metal-Organic Frameworks (MOF) and hybrid organic-inorganic materials. After obtaining the PhD, BDC moved to the Department of Chemistry, Materials and Chemical Engineering Giulio Natta at Politecnico of Milano, where she participated in research project aimed at synthesizing nanostructured self-sensing and mechano-chemically active polymeric materials (2011-2013). From July 2013 to February 2015 she was recipient of a post doc fellowship at the University of Milano Bicocca (Project on oxide materials for energy and environmental applications and Shape controlled inorganic fillers for rubber nanocomposite materials). In March 2015, she became Assistant Professor of General and Inorganic Chemistry at the University of Milano-Bicocca.
She coordinates the activity research of PhD students of CORIMAV (Consortium for research on materials between the University of Milano-Bicocca and Pirelli Company). She teaches Laboratory of General Chemistry and Laboratory of Inorganic Chemistry I for Degree in Chemical Sciences and Technologies.
BDC is member of Group for promotion activities and support for research and its exploitation of University of Milano-Bicocca.
BDC has advanced experimental background in design and development of nanocomposite, hybrid and smart materials, as well as deep knowledge in inorganic chemistry. Her research interests are nanostructured oxides and organic-inorganic hybrid materials for environmental cleaning (photocatalysis), design and development of rubber composite.
