All PhD students, whether they have a grant or not, are provided with a budget of no less than 10% of the grant for research activities in Italy and abroad. This amount is managed directly by the service centre and the department which runs the doctoral course.
The research budget may be used by both recipients and non-recipients of grants to cover expenses incurred for missions or registrations at conferences, seminars or schools, expenses incurred when writing theses, expenses for seminars and conferences by external lecturers, purchases of consumables and services, and the maintenance of equipment and instruments.
