The Bachelor’s Degree in Geological Sciences and Technologies (L-34) has a duration of three years and requires the acquisition of 180 credits (ECTS) for the achievement of the degree. These credits are acquired with 20 exams (168 ECTS) and other training activities such as English language (3 ECTS), a course on safety (1 ECTS), seminars on geological applications (1 ECTS) and the final thesis with dissertation (7 ECTS). Indicatively, the examinations scheduled are 6 in the first year, 7 in the second year, and 7 in the third year. The course is open access, but a test of initial preparation is required.

At the end of the studies, the Degree in Geological Sciences and Technologies is issued.
The degree allows access to first level vocational Masters and to Master Degree’s courses in the LM-74 class (Geological Sciences and Technologies) and in other classes activated at the University of Milan-Bicocca or at other universities according to the procedures established in the respective regulations.

The Bachelor’s Degree in Geological Sciences and Technologies gives the possibility to enroll in section B (Junior geologist) of the professional register of geologists, after passing the State Exam.

The Bachelor’s Degree aims to provide a solid cultural and methodological preparation in the basic disciplines of Earth Sciences, which will allow graduates to deal with applications of geological type.
Particular attention has been paid to the organization of the first year in order to facilitate the introduction of students into the university education system.
The course is offered by the Department of Earth and Environmental Sciences, which was selected by MIUR as one of the five Departments of Excellence in Earth Sciences in Italy.
