The MSc. Degree in Materials Science is an International 2-year post graduate degree program offered by the University of Milano-Bicocca in the field of Materials Sciences Engineering degrees (LM-53).
The programme includes 120 credits (ECTS) and offers 12 exams for an amount of 84 ECTS. Other 36 ECTS regard additional activities such as internships, seminars and final assessment with preparation of the MSc Thesis. There are 60 ECTS in the first year and 60 ECTS in the second year.
There is no limit in the number of admitted students. The admission procedure, described at this link https://elearning.unimib.it/course/view.php?id=17945 comprises CV and transcript of records evaluation and an interview.
The official language of the Course is English.
At the end of the programme the student earns the Master of Science in Materials Science. The MSc Degree allows the student to apply for second level masters and PhD Course. The programme provides the student with advanced knowledge in Physics and Chemistry of materials, together with modelling approaches and experimental techniques of materials characterization, with practical activities in experimental laboratories.
General aim of the MSc. Degree in Materials Science is to create individuals with a multiple view approach in tackling new tasks for research and technology innovation where materials science is the main source of new sustainable solutions.
The MSc. Degree in Materials Science includes Dual Degree programmes in SUstainable MAterials (SUMA) with the KU-Leuven University in Leuven (B). Students can apply for admission following a specific procedure (https://www.master-suma.eu/apply/).
At the end of the Dual Degree programme the student earns the Italian Master of Science in Materials Science, the Belgian Master of Science in Materials Engineering, and the European Master’s degree in Sustainable Materials with the EIT label of the European Institute of Innovation and Technology.
