The Bachelor’s Degree in Materials Science is a 3-year graduate degree programme offered by the University of Milano-Bicocca in the field of Chemical Sciences and Technologies degrees (L-27). The programme includes 180 credits (ECTS) and offers 20 exams for an amount of 154 ECTS. Other 26 ECTS regard additional activities such as internships, seminars and final assessment with preparation of Thesis.
There are about 60 ECTS in the first year, 60 ECTS in the second year and 60 in the third year.
The maximum number of admitted students to the first year is 100. Students are admitted after a test which determines the final ranking.
At the end of the programme the student earns the Degree in Materials Science. The Degree allows the student to apply for first level masters and MSc. Degrees.
The programme provides the student with knowledge in Physics and Chemistry of materials, together with experimental techniques of materials characterization, with practical activities in experimental laboratories.
General aim of the Degree in Materials Science is to create individuals with a good background both in chemistry and physics able to understand the relationships between material structures and properties and to apply knowledge and experimental skills for the analysis of features and functions of several kinds of materials.
