Programming and management of the political and the social services
The Master’s Degree in “Programming and management of the political and the social services” (Level of qualification: 2nd cycle / 7 EQF level), or PROGEST as it is know in Italian, delivers 120 credits (CFU), and aims to prepare professionals and managers with special expertise in the planning of social projects.
These include social services, international cooperation, and health-related services both in the public, and private non-profit sectors. Under Italian law, a degree in PROGEST allows entrance to the “esame di Stato,” or State exam, that is mandatory in order to practice as a “assistente sociale specialist,” or specialist social worker. It also allows for registration in the “Albo degli assistenti sociali,” or registrar of social workers.
Admission into the Masters Program is based on an evaluation of ones previous academic career, as well as practical experiences within the field of the applicant. Every year 80 Italian national students are admitted, plus 4 students from abroad.
Currently, four courses are taught in English, and two seminars are delivered in French.
